We have had Wiggle Time on VHS for 10 years, and the tape is wearing out — so I bought this and it’s exactly what I was hoping (except that it’s missing the preview that had the “Hot Potato” song that my kids all love, so I’ll have to find that elsewhere). It is a Wiggles movie that doesn’t have the computer graphics, which we like for toddlers. It’s simply singing and dancing with VERY simple backgrounds, and my son loves it! (I wish I had half of the Wiggles’ energy! 🙂 At the end it has a portion from a live performance (I’ll asterisk the songs from that portion). Product Description Hey kids, what time is for? It’s WIGGLE TIME! From way “down under” comes the #1 children’s entertainment name in Australia – THE WIGGLES! Murray, Jeff, Anthony and Greg are ready to teach your kids how to “Rock-A-Buy Your Bear” and “Love It When it Rains.” Children will also laugh at Dorothy, henry and Captain Feathersword as they sing and swing in their own groovy music videos. With millions of videos and audio cassettes sold in Australia, now is the time to introduce your children to this hilariously happy “down under” world of musical enchantment. Join the worldwide celebration – get ready to WIGGLE! The Wiggles are Australia’s hottest children’s entertainment and it’s easy to see why. This 40-minute video is packed with 16 fun songs that make children want to dance and, yes, wiggle. Greg Page, the main vocalist, has a pleasing, folksy voice reminiscent of Canada’s Raffi. Murray Cook and Anthony Field accompany on guitar, Jeff Fatt accompanies on accordion and keyboard, and all three dance, wiggle, and teach kids song-specific movements and lyrics. The songs themselves have imaginative lyrics and catchy melodies, a fact that hints at Anthony, Murray, and Greg’s backgrounds in early childhood education. Costarring with this foursome are four lovable, costumed characters: Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Henry the Octopus, and Wags the Dog. The majority of the video features Greg, Murray, Anthony, and Jeff on uncluttered sets with simple background props that set the mood without distracting viewers from the musical experience. The latter portion of the video features several live performances (“Wags the Dog,” “Five Little Ducks,” “Wiggly Medley”) from The Wiggles Big Show. The tour brought the foursome to America in 1999. This award-winning group from Australia provides a fun, interactive musical experience for kids ages 1 to 6. –Tami Horiuchi See all Editorial Reviews
The Wiggles – Wiggle Time [VHS] Review
We’ve had the CD for several months now and my 3 year old and 18 months old don’t get tired of it, we usually listen to it in the car on the road to daycare at least 2-3 a week. We all sing-along, myself included. .. I usually get stuck with at least one of the songs and sing it (in my head) the rest of the way to work, but I don’t mind. The songs are short and fun. When we do listen to this cd at home, they always dance the entire time CD lasts and ask for a replay. My 3 yeard old actually complained while in the car that she "can not wriggle" along due to car seat restraints! -Read Reviews-
Great DVD, The Wiggles never go out of style for the preschool age group. My oldest son had this DVD when he was young and it was one of his favorites, it had been badly damaged and thrown out years ago. Now my youngest son has started watching the Wiggles and was wanting more than just the 2 DVDs we had left. I knew this was a hit in the past and it didn’t disappoint this time either! It kept my son engaged and dancing along the whole 32 minutes of air time. Thanks Wiggles!
