Review “A hilarious story about secret parping.” – The Guardian “…a great book to share at story time or even bedtime – however be prepared for lots of giggles and the request for the book to be read again and again.” – Sarah’s Book Review “Roberts’ vigorous, sketchy artwork is light-hearted, cleverly catching the humour of the situations observed by Bertie in a useful and enjoyable take on a delicate topic.” – Books for Keeps “My 6 year old thought it was so funny and naughty that he has read and read it and it has also had the accolade of being taken to school for show and tell.” – Bookbabblers –This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
Pooh! is That You Bertie? Hardcover – July 5, 2004 by David Roberts (Author) Review
Our little Bertie is at it again. He is experimenting with all the ways and places that he can pass gas. He manages to offend everyone around him and stinks up the atmosphere while he is at it. If you can tolerate potty humour and a child that likes to put a bit of spiciness into life, well this is the book for you. His big revelation is that he is not the only one who does a ‘downward burp. ” His cat, his mom, his dad, his sister, even his dog lets them go and they too smell vile. Vocabulary building will abound with such words as: poot, ponged, parp, smelly, trump, rip, and boffs. The illustrations are cartoonish, expressive and really funny! The last page of the book (which I will not spoil for you) will put a smile on your child’s face for sure. The reading of this book opens the perfect conversation about everyone on the planet passing gas and what to do about the event when it happens. It will truly provide a teachable moment in your child’s life. Laugh along with Bertie as he discovers the wonderful world the “tooting. ” -Read Reviews-
