Buy “Pinzon Luxury Reversible Cotton Bath Mat – 30 x 50 inch, Platinum Home & Kitchen” Online
I was skeptical in buying this bath rug due to the mixed reviews, especially after the rug was washed. Since Pinzon has the color and the size that I needed, so I decided to give it a try. This rug is beautiful, and very dense. It’s exactly what I was looking for. After a couple of weeks of use, I decided to put it to the "wash test". Since I’ve read reviews that this rug would come apart in clumps and the lint would clog the dryer, I decided to take this rug to an outside laundry-mat (just to be safe – don’t want to ruin my washer and dryer). With the heavy duty commercial washer and dryer, I figure it should do the worse to this rug. To my surprise and after 2 washes, the rug held together, and I have pictures to prove it. The only down side is that it took 90 minutes to dry this rug. Guess the next time I’ll wash it at home so I can save that 90 minutes drying time plus the wash time. Because I read that many people complaint that the rug smell moldy after awhile, and to resolve this, I put a capful of beach with my wash to disinfect the rug, and the rug came out smelling clean. Also, the amount of lint caught from the lint catcher in the dryer is just a bit more that your regular cotton load wash. All cotton fabrics sheds lint, even after you wash it 20 times – this is why we have lint catcher. Please see photos after 2 washes. Here are my pros and cons view on this rug. Pros:- Very dense and thick- It doesn’t shrink after washing and drying- Very beautiful and luxurious- Fantastic value for the price- My sister got 2 for her house after seeing this rugCons:- Takes a long time to dry (This I can live with, since the quality of this rug is exactly what I was looking for) Check it out!
Pinzon Luxury Reversible Cotton Bath Mat – 30 x 50 inch, Platinum Review
After searching high and low for a nice, plain white bath mat that has no rubber backing (tried that once, mold ensued. never again in florida!), I found most were either way too expensive, and either not soft or not thick enough. I thought I might be compromising on this one when I bought it, but the price was good enough that I felt even if it didn’t provide much padding underfoot it could still be worth it. However I find the padding this is quite sufficient, it absorbs water well, and the material is nice and soft. I ordered 3 and I have 2 by the sinks and one by the shower. I’ve had them over a month now and they’ve all been washed several times and while they did lose quite a bit of "fluff" to the lint trap, I don’t notice any excessive shedding when using them nor do they *look* like they’re losing a lot of material. After observing them after several washes and trips through the dryer I believe they will hold up very nicely for a long time. Pic attached of the one we have by the shower, as well as a comparison photo for what the mat looks like when it’s "reversed". I personally prefer the fluffier side up. Seems like a well made bath rug and we are pleased with our purchase, would recommend! -Read Reviews-

Sheds like a buffalo until washed. When washed — be prepared to clean the lint filter in the dryer twice during the drying cycle which is very, very long. Actually, I dry for 90 minutes, and then hang on a rack over night and then just to be sure they are dry (I put them on hardwood floors) — another 20 minutes in the morning. The second wash the shedding is diminished considerably. This is the negative. The positive — thick, luxurious cotton rugs which is why I give them 5 stars. I have six of them; two in white, four in platinum. The white ones do not shed as much as the grey. They also shrink a bit after washing — but they’re cotton and to be expected. UPDATE: I’ve had these rugs for nearly a year and the grey ones still shed tremendously after washing. I have washed them at least 20 times. The white ones barely shed. Not sure why the difference. They both need at least two hours in the dryer to completely dry — they are very thick rugs. Having said all of this, they are very nice thick, high quality 100% cotton rugs.
