Reading this book for the 5th maybe 6th and I still feel the same way. … I loved reading from Damon’s POV he is just so funny and the way his mind works to solve a problem well it is unlike anything I have read. Each time I read this book I am infuriated by the way that Elena is so single minded in her love for Stefan, its like she can’t do anything other than love him, like she has to love him no matter what. Damon knew what he was saying when he was trying to explain to her why they are better suited to be together:But Elena, Damons voice had life now; it was both excited and inflexible: Cant you see? Past history aside, you have to admit that were the ones that belong together. You and I are simply better suited to each other by nature. Deep down you know that, because we understand each other. Were on the same intellectual levelSometimes I feel as though Damon is the only one who actually uses his mind. A fellow reader made a good point in another review where she stated that Elena needs someone to love and show her love and that is what Stefan did for her. She then needed to do that for Damon but she keeps resisting him. .. Just being too damn stubborn!!! Check it out!

Nightfall (The Vampire Diaries, The Return, Vol. 1) Paperback – March 16, 2010 by L. J. Smith (Author) Review
She’s back, Elena’s back from the dead after helping save the world in the last book from the spirit realm. Things have changed and nobody knows that Elena’s back besides her inner circle of friends. Caroline’s not handling it too well though. (She’s nothing like the show’s Caroline). Stefan’s trying to protect Elena and Damon wants to do the same, but he’s able to be taken over by this new evil that has come to Mystic Falls. Meredith, Bonnie, Matt, Elena and even Mrs. Flowers have to work together to stop what is happening and is to come. The girls in town are starting to change ever since the foxes came to town. Stefan goes missing and it is Damon’s fault even though he is having hard time remembering what he is doing being possessed and all. Nightfall ends with Elena, Matt and Damon leaving town to find Stefan. Elena saved Damon, but at what cost? U will have to read and find out. I thought that this book could have done better yes because it was really hard to read this book and did take longer than the first four to read. I am not sure if this was before or after L.J. Smith was fired from Alloy/Harper books and a ghost writer took over, but that could be it on the failing parts of this book. I am not sure if i will re-read but I will encourage others to give it a chance because it does have some great parts. -Read Reviews-
This book was another page turner for me. Probably because I love both the tv series and the books i have read of this series previously. As i of course will continue on to the next. The only thing I personally will say is that I have read this book now twice. And at some parts it still confuses me. But thats me! If your a fan as I am then of course I would recommend reading this book.
