Great recording of early Callas–1953. At this stage of her career, Callas, as Tullio Serafin often stated, could do almost anything. I have always loved this opera but had only heard it with lighter sopranos like Pons. But Callas made this role her own. Her dark voice is perfectly suited for this opera. Unfortunately, there are many cuts. For a really complete score, see Sutherland’s second recording. Check it out!

Donizetti: Di Lammermoor Review
I love this opera. I have not played this yet, but it appears to be in good condition. The price was fine and it arrived quickly. If you are a Callas fan you must have this opera. -Read Reviews-
I was only 11 years old when a friend showed up with this recording–in vinyl-, warning us it belonged to his dad and he would get hell if we scratched it in any way. I feel in love with all: tenor, soprano, baritone and conductor. Till today. This is probably the greatest Lucia on record, except, of course for Callas’ other Lucias (I also have the Von Karajan]. Today I play it in homage to her birthday, Nov. 2nd. This has been an everlasting love. I call her "the voice of my inner woman".
