Champion Men’s Long Mesh Short With Pockets Review
I bought the same size (2XL) and similar style of three brands of active mesh shorts with pockets: Russell Athletic Champion and Starter (found in-store at Walmart). I typically wear size 48 or 50 (48 is typically snug, 50 a tad loose). All three of these products advertise 2XL as fitting sizes 46-48. Due to the stretchiness, I found all three fit more forgivingly than my typical size, but otherwise were true to size. All three are very comfortable. For length, the starter are the shortest (but not embarrassingly so), Champion has a medium length, and Russell comes just past my knee. All three are slightly see-through (Starter least so), but not enough so that anyone could see anything from a casual inspection, especially if you wear similar colors underneath. I got all dark colors (either Navy or Black), so YMMV with lighter colors. Of the three, I prefer the fit of the Russell Athletic the most. Champion tends to slip down in the back, as does the Starter to slightly a lesser degree. Because of this, with both the Champion and Starter I have to be very careful of the weight I put in the pockets; putting in my phone, wallet, and keys will make both brands quickly end up on the floor, whereas in the Russell I had no trouble walking around carrying all of those items. I have not tried running with that much weight yet. I still like both the Starter and Champion enough to keep them, but I would buy Russell next time instead. -Read Reviews-

In my opinion, they fit as i expected. I typically vary between 34 and 36 size pants, so I am used to pants being tight or baggy just depending on the manufacturer. I have some ham sized thighs, so typically mediums are too tight for them to handle. I went with large in these, they are slightly baggy on me. The shorts are shorter than many athletic alternatives now-a-days, but still ride down to the knee. The shorts are moderately transparent. There is a double layered build, but both of which are fairly thin. If you are rocking bubble-gum pink underwear, the world may be able to spot that. The main issue I had with these shorts was the fact that the drawstring snapped after only 2 uses. Due to the waist and length being a little big for my "Marge" "large-medium" sizing build, the drawstring was completely necessary for me to keep these shorts on while working out. I went to put these on for the third time and the string popped. These shorts are now useful only for lounging. Pretty disappointing for this to happen while being so new. I only paid around 10 dollars for these, so it isn’t a huge bummer. Just be prepared, these are not some high-dollar quality shorts. If you want shorts to pound some iron for many months, these might not be for you. If you just want to strut around Wal-Mart comfortably, or sit around playing your hearthstone and trolling on internet forums: save some money and go for it.
